Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, and non-flammable gas that is always around us. The air we breathe contains (300-400ppm) of CO2.
Adding more CO2 to the air in the grow room stimulates growth, and makes marietas withstand high temperatures much better.
The enrichment of CO2 causes the foliage, stems and branches to grow in less time. The higher rate of branching facilitates more sites to give rise to inflorescences.
The CO2 level should be kept between 1000 and 1500 ppm.
Carbon dioxide can make people dizzy when it exceeds 5,000 ppm, and it can become toxic at higher levels.
When CO2 reaches these levels there is always a lack of oxygen.
