The importance of adjusting the pH is crucial. And it is that, at the time of nutrient absorption, the availability of these it depends directly on the existing pH in the medium. On the other hand, the addition of nitric acid supposes an extra dose of nitrogen; one of the macronutrients indispensable for plants throughout their entire life cycle. It is essential for the production of amino acids, enzymes, nucleic acids, chlorophyll and alkaloids. It contributes to the vegetative development of the plant and is the main responsible for the growth of leaves and stems, but must also be present in the last stages of maturation.
