Sold by Natural Systems. More information

Perlite V13 3/6 mm 100 L. One of the best known and most used culture media in technical crops and industrial for its versatility and performance. It has magnificent physical and chemical properties that make it in an indispensable for many uses.

    Format:

Pearlite is an amorphous crystal that has the virtue of being able to expand a lot when heated enough. After its expansion, it becomes an extremely light and porous material, capable of retaining a large quantity of water or air inside.

The perlite thus expanded maintains the original properties of the starting mineral, so it remains chemically neutral and inert to atmospheric agents, non-combustible, non-toxic and insoluble. Being totally inert and sterile, with a neutral pH, it is an ideal medium for hydroponic crops of any kind, recirculated and hydroponic cultures with lost solution. At the same time, its high porosity gives it lightness necessary for its handling to be comfortable in this type of crops.

When creating another type of substrate, there is no manufacturer who does not pride himself on using a certain amount in their mixes to ensure the quality of your substrate. Perlite is a volcanic mineral that when subjected to high temperatures (800- 900 ºC), it expands up to 20 times its initial volume. Its structure is made up of multiple holes and pores that allow it to retain up to 5 times its weight in water, which is good for improving substrate water retention.

For the same reason, it is easy to combine it with liquid fertilizers, fungicides, or other liquid applications that need to be incorporated. It favors the development of the roots by creating holes (macro and micropores) improving overall porosity.

This aeration is essential for the roots and has a very beneficial influence on the later development of the plants, preventing the substrate from caking over time.

The perlite V13 is available in bags of 100L . According to the average size of its grains there is:

    • V13 0/6 mm
    • V13 3/6 mm
